2012 Thanksgiving Bird Pick-up Times and Location

Pick-up times for your gobbler are Sunday and Monday 11/18 & 11/19 4pm-7pmIf you are not able to make those times work let me know and we can arrange something.

Our address is 87591 Gilman Ln, Bandon, Or 97411.  We are located 6 mi south of Bandon and 1/2 mi north of the Game Park.  Gilman Ln is on the East side of Hwy 101.  We live 1/2 mi down the gravel road, through the gate at the end.  (If you are still not sure where we are located, Gilman Ln is just across and north of the purple and orange Art 101 shop).  We can take checks made out to Diana Swenson or cash.

*I recommend you bring an ice chest to put your bird in.  For those of you that want smaller birds or extra large, it is first come first pick on sizes. I tend to have more birds in the 16-18# range and not as many on the small side.

Remember to check out our Talking Turkey cooking pointers.

Thank you again. Looking forward to seeing you Sunday and Monday~2

2012 Turkeys are Growing, Healthy and Happy!

Once again fall has arrived and we've been blessed with a glorious warm rain nourishing our pastures and filling our creeks.  Today the turkeys are basking in the sun, stretching out wet feathers and wondering who turned the hose on last night.  We had almost two inches of the wet stuff.  No doubt the new growth that's coming will satisfy their appetites and put some more meat on their bones.  For the most part the gobblers spend their time cruising around the pastures eating grass, bugs and anything else that looks interesting.  They will peck at just about anything.  When evening comes they head back towards the house and if it was possible they'd be right on the porch peering in the windows.  I'm not sure if it is because of habit , safety or because they know who gives them grain everyday but guaranteed they are as close to the house as possible sleeping in huddles every night.  That suits me fine.  I'm hoping to get by without any predator problems.
